Dock-to-dock Route Guidance: Boat Parameters and Warnings
With an active subscription, your Navionics chartplotter card allows for advanced map options, including Dock-to-dock Route Guidance1.
Before using this feature, be sure to to enter your boat settings into your chartplotter system.
Routes are created automatically based on your boat draft entered, along with the Navionics chart/depth detail. Once the route is created, warning icons will display on route legs which need to be reviewed, for example, as they are close to a buoy, go through bridges or under overhead wires, or get close to your safe water depth.
Note the feature in the Navionics® Boating app, called Auto Guidance+1, does take into consideration additional boat settings (draft, height, and distance from the coastline).
1 Dock-to-dock Route Guidance and Auto Guidance+ is for planning purposes only and does not replace safe navigation operations.
