Pairing Garmin HUD/HUD+ with a Smartphone

Before you can use the Garmin HUD/HUD+ with your Smartphone and Garmin navigation application, the HUD/HUD+ must be connected via Bluetooth, and enabled in the application. Once you pair the HUD/HUD+, the application should automatically enable HUD support.

Follow the Steps Below:

  1. Using the provided power cable, plug the Garmin HUD/HUD+ into your vehicle's 12 volt power outlet.
  2. Turn on the HUD/HUD+ and wait for the word "PAIR" to appear on the display.
    • If you don't see this, press and hold the Power Button on the HUD/HUD+ for three (3) seconds to turn it On.
  3. Ensure that the HUD/HUD+ and Smartphone are within 33ft (10m) of each other.
  4. Enable Bluetooth on your Smartphone and Search for devices. A list of nearby Bluetooth devices should appear.
    • If you are unsure on how to do this, please see the Owner's Manual of your Smartphone.
  5. Select the Garmin HUD/HUD+ to Connect and Pair the two devices.

If automatic detection of paired devices is enabled on your Smartphone, the Garmin HUD/HUD+ should automatically connect if both are in range of one another and powered on. You may be prompted to allow pairing. If you only see a line of dashes, you may have to enable HUD support in the application itself.
