Will My Optical Heart Rate Sensor Be Accurate if I Have a Pacemaker or ICD?
Pacemakers or ICD should not impact the accuracy of Garmin Optical Heart sensor, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the heart rate data from our Optical Heart Rate Sensor if you have a pacemaker or ICD or other heart condition. Watches that use Heart Rate Variability (HRV) may not be able to accurately calculate that data or related metrics if you have a pacemaker, ICD, or other heart condition. The HR monitor data is not intended to be used for medical purposes, nor is it intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. Garmin recommends you consult your doctor before engaging in any exercise routine. For more information visit www.garmin.com/ataccuracy.
