Messenger App Undelivered Messages Help
When you first set up the Garmin Messenger app, you are prompted to verify your mobile phone number. From that point on, any inReach or Garmin Messenger messages sent to your phone number are delivered to Garmin Messenger instead of your phone's default text messaging app.
There may be instances where you receive an SMS text reminder to check the Messenger app for unread messages. The message will include a link to open or download the Messenger app. If further messages are sent which your app cannot download, you will receive a link to this page for explanation. These are some of the reasons the SMS text message may be sent to you:
- Your phone notifications may be off. Ensure your notifications are enabled for the Messenger app to be informed of new incoming messages.
- Your phone lost connectivity for an hour or more and you were not able to download your new message. Garmin will try to reach you via SMS text message to inform you of a message waiting in the Messenger app.
- You are in a very weak signal area. Your phone may be unable to connect to Garmin, however SMS text messages can still be sent to and from your phone.
- You are on an internet network which cannot communicate with Garmin (such as a public access point or network behind a firewall).
