Using the HRM-Pro/Pro Plus Running Pace and Distance Feature

The HRM-Pro/Pro Plus can calculate running pace and distance based on your user profile and the motion measured by the sensor on every stride. By default, the HRM-Pro/Pro Plus provides running pace and distance when GPS is not available, such as during treadmill running or if you lose GPS when running outdoors. You can view your running pace and distance on your watch when connected via ANT+. Using the strap with a compatible third-party training app requires you to pair it using Bluetooth.

NOTE: To get pace and distance, a compatible watch must be paired and in range of the HRM-Pro/Pro Plus strap during the activity. For troubleshooting steps see: HRM-Pro/Pro Plus Running Pace and Distance Troubleshooting Tips.

I Do Not Have A Compatible Watch

If your watch is not listed above, but is compatible with a foot pod and heart rate sensor, you can still use the strap to record pace and distance. The watch will see the HRM-Pro/Pro Plus as two separate sensors, a heart rate monitor and a foot pod. You will need to pair both sensor types for the feature to function on your watch.

NOTE: Watches that feature a treadmill calibration option will lose this feature when you add the HRM-Pro/Pro Plus as a foot pod sensor. You will be required to calibrate distance from the foot pod sensor settings. For information on how to calibrate a foot pod sensor, see: How Do I Calibrate the Foot Pod?
