Dismissing the Connect Sync Service Notification on My Phone
Android phones will notify you about apps running in the background as shown below:
The Garmin Connect app needs to run in the background to keep your Garmin device connected with key features such as smart notifications and weather information. This also allows background data syncing to send data from your device to your Garmin Connect account.
Steps to Turn Off This Notification
This will dismiss the notification but will not affect the app's ability to run in the background.
Open the Garmin Connect app.
Select More (bottom right).
Select Settings.
Select Phone Permissions.
Select Manage Permissions from the bottom of the screen.
Select Notifications.
If present select Notification categories.
Uncheck or toggle off Device Connectivity.
Now I Am Seeing a Battery Usage Message
If you see a notification indicating that the Garmin Connect app is using battery resources, it is important to know that any Android app that runs in the background will affect your phone's battery life.
Steps to Hide the Battery Usage Notification:
From the phone, swipe down from the top to display your notifications.
Press and hold the Battery notification, then select the option to turn it off.
Select Done.
Why Does the Connect Sync Service Notification Pop Back Up?
If you reboot your phone the notification may display again. Opening the Garmin Connect app on the phone will result in the notification disappearing.
