Fusion BB300 Power Troubleshooting

The BB300 with the NRX300 remote may encounter an issue where the remote does not respond to inputs or the remote displays an error message. In this case the BB300 status light (PWR) will need to be checked.

Fusion BB300 Status Lights and Descriptions

Status LightDescription
GreenGood power, normal operation.
YellowNetwork error, check network power and connections.
RedProtection mode, disconnect from power for 20 minutes and test power source.

If the status light is GREEN then the BB300 is operating normally. Ensure software is updated and check the NMEA 2000 connections.

If the status light is YELLOW then there is a communication issue. Check the NMEA 2000 connections. The NMEA 2000 Troubleshooting article will walk you through how to test the NMEA 2000 network.

If the status light is RED then there is a power issue. Using a voltmeter check the power readings at the following points and verify the voltage reads between 10.8-16Vdc:

  1. At the power cable plug

  2. At the bus bar or fuse block

  3. At the battery

  • If the readings are correct, then disconnect all wiring and allow the devices to sit for 20 minutes. Reconnect the NRX remote, power and ground to the BB300 and try to power the system on

    • If the unit powers on then reconnect the rest of the system a few items at a time and test the system as you go. Ensure software is up to date

    • If the unit does NOT power on, then the BB300 will need to be replaced

  • If the readings are NOT correct, then troubleshoot the power source and load test the system to ensure adequate amperage is available

If either the MS-BB300 or the MS-NRX300 has been exchanged an issue may occur where the MS-BB300 seems to power on briefly then shuts off and the MS-NRX300 states "Waiting for Stereo" or "Stereo Off Line." Follow these steps to reassign the remote to the stereo and resolve this issue:

  1. Apply power to the MS-BB300, MS-NRX300 and the NMEA 2000 Network and turn the Fusion system on
  2. Once powered up the MS-NRX300 remote may state "Waiting for Stereo" or "Stereo Off Line", press the Source button on the MS-NRX300
  3. The MS-NRX300 will state "Finding Stereos," once the MS-BB300 appears on the MS-NRX300, press the MS-NRX300 volume knob to select the stereo
  4. Allow a few moments while the pairing occurs and signals the MS-BB300 to wake up
