Frequently Asked Questions About Using the Built-in Camera Feature on an Outdoor Handheld
If your handheld has a built-in camera we have compiled a few common questions on using that feature. For information on using your specific handheld's camera review the owner's manual.
What Information is Captured When a Picture Is Taken?
Garmin handhelds equipped with a camera will record additional data when a photo is taken. Data such as position (latitude and longitude) and the date the photo was taken will be recorded within the picture file stored on your handheld.
The heading or bearing of your Garmin handheld when the photo was taken will not be recorded.
How Do You Save Pictures From a Handheld to a Computer?
You can upload photos taken by your handheld to a computer using our BaseCamp™ program. This allows you to not only back up and view the photos within BaseCamp software, but also save them to your computer. Saving the photos to your computer is helpful if you wish to send them to others. You can also retrieve the photos without using BaseCamp software, if preferred.
