Using Garmin Connect Training Plans
The Garmin Connect™ platform offers a variety of training plans to help you reach your fitness goals. Each plan will provide a series of workouts that build upon each other to prepare you for your event. Plan types include:
Cycling
Running
Triathlon
Self-Guided
Our training plans feature workouts and expert advice from the world's top coaches. When you find a plan that fits, add it to your Garmin Connect calendar. You can even send the workouts to your compatible Garmin device and use it as your virtual coach.
Training Plans are accessed from Garmin Connect. A limited number of training plans, including the Garmin Coach training plans, can also be accessed from the Garmin Connect app (see What Is the Garmin Coach Feature in Garmin Connect? for instructions).
Standard running training plans can include some non-run workouts like cross-training or bike workouts, but only run workouts from the training plan will be sent to devices. Non-run workouts in the training plan will only be displayed as a note in the Calendar in Garmin Connect. These notes will explain what to do for the workout, but will not be recorded like a structured workout.
Triathlon training plans will send running and bike workouts to compatible devices, but swim workouts will only be displayed as a note in the Calendar in Garmin Connect. These notes will explain what to do for the workout, but will not be recorded like a structured workout.

Will My Training Plan Sync Over When I Add a New or Replacement Watch to Garmin Connect?
As long as the new or replacement watch is compatible with your current Garmin Training Plan, the workouts should transfer over after a successful sync. If you are not seeing them transfer to your new or replacement watch, confirm you have set the new or replacement watch as your Primary Wearable Device.
