"Runtime Error" or "Application Failed to Start" Errors in Garmin Applications

Runtime or Application errors can occur for a number of reasons ranging from hardware problems to missing Windows components.  

These Errors Will Display as:

• Runtime Error.

• This Application failed to Start.

To Resolve this:

• Make sure the computer meets the application's minimum system requirements.

• Install the latest update for the Garmin application from Garmin Applications: Updates and Downloads.

• Install the 32-bit (x86) Visual C++ Redistributable Packages. Different Garmin applications require different versions.
  Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package (x86)
  • Select vcredist_x86.exe when prompted.

• Install any needed Windows operating system updates.

After completing these suggestions, the error should be corrected.
