Sending, Cancelling, and Deleting a Tracking Request for inReach
Tracking requests can be made through the Map page of the Garmin Explore™ website to remotely start or change tracking on your inReach® device.
Sending a Tracking Request
IMPORTANT: Making multiple tracking requests will not speed up the process and may cause further requests to be unsuccessful.
- Log in to the Garmin Explore website.
- Select Map at the top of page.
- Click
from the left panel.
- Select Track.
A User Tracking box will appear. - Select the dropdown and choose a tracking interval.
- Select OK.
For more information about inReach Tracking, see - Track Settings Explained on Garmin inReach Handhelds.
What to Expect After a Tracking Request is Submitted
After a tracking request is made, it will try to get a response from the inReach handheld for up to five days.
To accept the tracking request, the inReach handheld needs to be powered on with a clear view of the sky. It can take up to 20 minutes for any changes to tracking to appear on the map.
Canceling or Deleting Tracking Requests
Once a tracking request has been confirmed by selecting OK (see steps above), it cannot be canceled and will continue trying for five days.
However, prior to selecting OK, clicking Cancel will stop the request before it is made if you do not want to proceed with the tracking request.
