Administrator Password on a Windows Computer

In Windows, an administrator is someone who has permission to install programs and make specific changes to the computer and its settings. You may get an error message that says you don't have administrative privileges if you try to install a program without being signed into an administrative account. The administrator is typically the owner of the computer or the person who originally set it up when it was new. An administrator password is created on the initial setup of the system. It is not your Garmin account password, and Garmin does not have access to it.

For assistance with determining your computer's administrator password, contact Microsoft support.

If you are unable to obtain administrator access, it may be necessary to use your Garmin product with a different computer.
