How to Reset GPS 72/76 and GPSMAP 76/76S
There are a few instances in which you may want to perform a reset on your GPS 72, GPS 76, GPSMAP® 76, or GPSMAP® 76S handheld, including the following:
- not receiving a satellite signal
- restore the factory default settings
- not functioning properly
All settings, user data*, and satellite data may be erased when resetting the GPS. For assistance backing up user data, see related content.
To perform the master reset:
- Power the device Off
- Press and hold Menu
- Power the device On while continuing to hold Menu
- Release all buttons once the Do you really want to erase all userdata? message appears
- Select Yes
The GPS 72 / 76 or GPSMAP 76 / 76 handheld is now reset. You may need to leave the device outside with a clear view of the sky for a minimum of 20 minutes to acquire satellite data.
