Importing Garmin Connect Activities Into Garmin Explore

Compatible devices that support activities1 can sync new activity data directly to Garmin Explore using the Garmin Explore app. If you have older activities in Garmin Connect, there is no direct way to transfer them to Garmin Explore. If you have activities in Garmin Connect that you wish to see in Garmin Explore, they can be manually exported from Garmin Connect, then imported into Garmin Explore as tracks or routes.

Exporting an Activity From Garmin Connect

NOTE: Activities must be exported individually. There is no bulk export option for activities.

  1. Sign in to the Garmin Connect website from a web browser.
  2. Select Activities from the navigation bar on the left.
  3. Select All Activities.
  4. Select the name of the activity you would like to export.
Select the Name of an Activity
  5. Select the settings gear in the top right corner.
    Activity Settings Gear Icon
  6. Select Export to GPX. The file will then begin to download.

Importing an Activity Into Garmin Explore

NOTE: Manually imported activities can only be imported as a track or as a route. Files must be imported one at a time.

  1. Sign in to the Garmin Explore website
  2. Select Map.
  3. Click White down arrow on grey background from the top right corner of the map.
  4. Select Import Lines As Tracks or Import Lines As Routes.
    • Tracks preserve up to 10,000 data points that form the line. Tracks are the common choice.
    • Routes will be reduced to 200 data points, which may result in a line that is less detailed than the original. Routes can be used on devices that support calculating routes.
  5. Select a Collection or your Library to import the file into, then select Next.

  6. Drag a file to the import box, or choose Click Here to browse the computer for the file to import.
