Enabling Permissions in the Garmin eLog App

The Garmin eLog App requires certain permissions to be enabled to be compliant.

iPhone

On an iPhone, the Garmin eLog App requires permissions for Bluetooth, Location, and Notifications. A message will appear asking if you allow these permissions when setting up the app. Touch Allow to enable the permissions.

Touch OK when the Bluetooth message appears.

Not allowing the required permissions will cause the app to display an alert that it won't be able to connect or that it won't be compliant. The message "Garmin eLog is not compliant without location access" may appear instructing "go to app settings" to enable these permissions when setting up the app.

To Enable Bluetooth, Location, and Notifications Permissions on an iPhone:

1. Touch Go to App Settings

2. Ensure Location, Bluetooth, and Notifications are allowed

Android

On an Android phone, dezl 780, dezlCam 785, dezl OTR800, or dezl OTR1000 the Garmin eLog App requires permissions for Location and Storage. One of the following messages may appear instructing "go to app settings" to enable these permissions when setting up the app.

NOTE: The dezl OTR810 and the dezl OTR1010 are not able to change these settings.

  • "Garmin eLog is not compliant without location access"
  • "Garmin eLog is not compliant without internal storage access"

To Enable Location and Internal Storage Permissions on an Android Phone:

1. Touch Go To App Settings

2. Touch Permissions

3. Touch the switches next to Location and Storage to enable the permissions

    • Select "Allow all the time" if using Android 11 or newer
