Setting up the BC 50 Series Wireless Backup Camera

The BC 50 Series wireless backup camera is a multi-purpose Wi-Fi-enabled camera intended to help drivers easily spot vehicles, pedestrians, and other hard-to-see obstructions behind their vehicle. This camera uses Wi-Fi to connect the compatible GPS.

  • Garmin recommends having the BC 50 professionally installed.
  • Depending on the wiring options chosen, when the paired GPS is powered on
    • It  can automatically display camera footage every time the vehicle is shifted into reverse, if the camera is wired to your reverse lights for power.
    • It can allow toggling between the navigation display and backup display modes at the press of a button, if the camera is wired to constant power.
  • Only the BC 50 with night vision is equipped with NightGlo technology, which illuminates up to 20' (6 meters) behind your vehicle for exceptional visibility at night. 
    • Camera automatically switches between day mode and night mode based on light levels.
  • An optional 50' (15 meters) extension cable (sold separately) is available that will add to the transmission range to provide a range up to 100' (30 meters) for extended vehicles and vehicle-trailer configurations.
