Trip Info Page of inReach Explorer+ or SE+ Not Updating

An inReach Explorer®+ or inReach SE®+ handheld only records and accrues trip statistics on the Trip Info page if Tracking for the unit is enabled. If the Trip Info of your inReach® device stays at zero or does not increase as you travel with your device you will need to use the instruction below to start tracking on the unit.

IMPORTANT

If your inReach Explorer handheld is active on a Annual or Freedom Safety Plan sending tracking points incurs a overage charge.

If you do not want to the inReach Explorer to send track points use the instructions in the Related Content to set the Sending Interval of your device to Off before starting tracking in your device.

  1. Turn on the inReach handheld

  2. Select Tracking

  3. Select Start

  4. If you would like to compose a message with your MapShare™ link to friends or family member select Share, otherwise select Not Now.
Note: This screen will not appear if it was disabled in Settings > Tracking > Prompt for MapShare.

  5. Return to the Trip Info page of the device and confirm that data is being recorded.

Tracking and Logging will begin on the device. Points will be sent from the device to the online account using the Send Interval and the inReach will record points to display in the unit using the Log Interval.

When an inReach handheld is fully powered off the tracking on the device is turned off as well. The next time the inReach handheld is powered on the tracking will not be active until it is started again. All other inReach devices with a display screen can be set up to automatically enable tracking when the inReach device is powered on. Refer to your owner's manual to find how to access the Auto Track setting of your inReach device.

To find the owner's manual, if you identified the specific device you are using select manuals on the left of the page, otherwise see the Related Content below.
