Syncing a Garmin Handheld with Garmin Express for Garmin Connect

Some Garmin handhelds are able to sync saved tracks or activities to the Garmin Connect™ website via Garmin Express™ software.

Garmin Connect is a program used for syncing and viewing your activity data. While mainly used with our fitness products, it is also a great tool for our outdoor products as it provides a detailed map for displaying your activities. Any sensors used with the Garmin handheld while recording the track (heart rate monitors, bike cadence sensors, etc.) will have their data uploaded with the saved track as well.

Syncing With Garmin Express™ Software

1. Plug in your handheld to the computer.
2. Download Garmin Express software. For steps, see - How Do I Install Garmin Express Software?
3. Select Add a Device.
4. Select Add Device once your handheld is found.
5. Select an option:
   • Create an Account if you do not have a Garmin Connect account
     -or-
   • Sign In if you have a Garmin Connect account
6. Enter a nickname if desired. Select Next.
   • If you get an option for Wi-Fi Networks, you can do this now or later (Under Tools & Content > Utilities).
7. Select Next.
   • If there are any updates, install those first by selecting Install and following the prompts.
8. Select Sync.

Once the sync is complete, you will see the message, "Synced Just Now" above the Sync box. You can click on the Garmin Connect box to view your synced activities on the Garmin Connect website (under Activities > All Activities).
