My Garmin Xero S1 Appears to Be Frozen or Locked Up

There may be instances where a Garmin Xero® S1 trapshooting trainer will have issues powering off and will appear to be frozen or locked up. Possible symptoms include: 

  • Screen stuck on Garmin logo
  • Menu option frozen on the screen
  • Device will not respond to user input

To remove your Xero S1 trainer from this state, press and hold the power button until the display goes blank. Then power it back on normally.  

If it fails to respond to user input and appears to be powered off, you may try plugging the Xero S1 trainer into an external power resource and then try holding the power button for about 10 seconds to see if it powers on.   

Performing a hardware reset with the steps above has the potential to erase information such as previous round info and scorecards. 

Note: Lock up or freezing issues should be rare. If this is occurring often check for software updates using the Garmin Express™ program. null
