BirdsEye Fails to Download or Gives a Server Error in BaseCamp
Description
BaseCamp™ software displays a server error while attempting to download BirdsEye or the download fails.
Resolution
- Ensure that BaseCamp program is up to date
BaseCamp program should automatically offer the option to update when a new version becomes available. The latest version can also be downloaded from www.garmin.com/baseCamp. - Internet Connection
Ensure the Internet connection meets the system requirements for downloading BirdsEye. A high-speed Internet connection is required. BirdsEye is not intended to be downloaded using the mobile broadband (such as MiFi, AirCard, or cell phone tethering), satellite, fixed wireless, or dial-up Internet connections. - Internet Security/Firewall
Security programs can affect the communication between a computer and the BirdsEye servers. It may be necessary to disable any and all security programs to allow BaseCamp to communicate. Refer to the instructions provided by the application publisher to disable any security programs installed to the computer. - On Mac OS X, adjust the computer's proxy settings:
- Click the Apple icon
- Click System Preferences
- Click Network
- Click Ethernet
- Click the Advanced button
- Click the Proxies tab
- Select the box Auto Proxy Discovery
- Click OK
- Click Apply
The BirdsEye satellite imagery should now download successfully.
