Master Reset a VIRB 360

If a VIRB® 360 is failing to perform as expected, it may be necessary to master reset the device. Master resets clear user settings by restoring the device to factory default settings.

Prior to performing a master reset, there is an additional troubleshooting step that can be performed. Often, issues are caused by corrupt GPS user data, videos, or photos, and removing this data may resolve issues. To do so, reference the section “Formatting Your Memory Card” in the owner's manual. You may want to back up this data before removing it from the device.

To Master Reset a VIRB 360 that will not Boot Up Properly:

1. Tap LEFT/POWER or RIGHT/Wi-Fi to access the menu
2. Select Setup
3. Select System
4. Select Factory Reset
5. Select the Check Mark to clear all settings

The device will now be restored to factory default settings.

To Perform a Factory/Master Reset on a VIRB 360 Using Buttons:

1. Ensure the device is powered off
2. Hold the RIGHT/Wi-Fi button and the Camera/OK button simultaneously
3. When the LED indicator light turns yellow, release both buttons
4. After the LED turns red, press and hold the Camera/OK button
5. When the LED turns off, release the Camera/OK button

The device should now reset itself to default factory settings, all user data should be removed, and the device should function as expected.
