PDC Quick Start Information

Anytime you do not receive your PDC clearance out of one of the 73 FAA designated airports, ask the controller why they did not issue a PDC for your aircraft  as your N# is on the FAA's PDC list.

Notifications will only be sent to the pilot and co-pilot (if applicable) whose names appear on the flight plan.  To make sure your account is set up correctly to receive the PDC notifications please verify that the following information is set up correctly. Email addresses/text message numbers will be taken from the Contact Information PIC Slots in your account.

•   To update this information please click on the Settings button located on the Main Menu Page then click on the  User/Pilot Info link.

•   Under the Pilot Information, list all pilots and the email / text address in which they wish to receive the PDC notifications to.  Place a check mark in the FILE NOTIFY box. If you wish to receive text messages verses using email addresses please enter your area code phone numbers and then your service provider.  ex. 2125551212@vtext.com   (Verizon is either  @vtext.com or @vzwpix.com / AT&T is @txt.att.net or @mms.att.net)

•   If each pilot is filing the flight plans through their own account, they must list this information in their PLT Slot and check the File Notify box in order to receive the PDC. The flight plan for this aircraft MUST be filed with FltPlan.com in order to receive the PDC.

Here are a few important reminders about the PDC program:

You can only be on 1 flight plan provider's list at a time. Being on more than 1 service provider's list will cause you to NOT receive your PDCs. The FAA system cannot determine who the flight plan filing provider is.

  • Once activated, PDC use will be required at all 73 airports where they are available. (Please reference the list online.)
  • The flight plans for this aircraft MUST be filed through FltPlan.com in in the ICAO Format in order to receive the PDC.
  • It is the responsibility of the person who enrolled in the PDC program to notify ALL pilots that are filing flight plans for this particular N# that it has been enrolled in the PDC program and is required to be used.
  • The FAA will only allow one PDC per tail number/call sign per day or within a 24 hour period per airport, to avoid a pilot using the wrong PDC. This is an FAA limitation, and not a limitation of FltPlan.com.
  • Refiling of a flight plan once it has already been sent to the FAA will cause your A/C to be ineligible for a PDC. Always contact the tower to have them update your departure time so that a PDC can be issued for your flight.
  • Flights that are less than 30 minutes long, ATC will not issue a PDC for that flight.
  • Flights that do not go above a certain flight level, will not be issued a PDC by ATC.

You can always get your PDC directly from our website. There will be a link below your flight plan on the Active Flight Plan List, and in the PDC section under the TOOLS button on the left side of Main Menu page and our mobile apps.

The below set of characters indicate a truncated route contained in a PDC. These characters indicate “Route then as filed”

While most PDCs are easy to interpret, there are some that may be difficult even for the most experienced aviators. We have compiled 11 examples of PDCs that may be challenging and included questions to test your knowledge. The quiz will not be graded - you will see the correct answers as you go. http://wwh.fltplan.com/PDCQuiz/startpage.htm

Feel free to contact us at FltPlan.Support@Garmin.com with any questions about this program.
Any misuse or failure to comply with these requirements will result in revocation of your PDC Service with FltPlan.com and no refund will be issued.
