Bluetooth Fitness Sensor Data Is Missing or Not Correct
Many Garmin® products support BLE (Bluetooth® Low Energy) sensors. At times, data may be incorrect or missing from the sensor in the activity summary.
NOTE: Not all Garmin devices compatible with ANT+/BLE sensors support additional metrics such as running dynamics or cycling dynamics. Select either hyperlink to reveal more information, or refer to your owner's manual.
My Data Is Missing
If data is missing, it may be that the paired sensor is not able to transmit that data to the Garmin product or the Garmin Connect™ app when using a BLE connection. ANT+ is the preferred way of getting data from sensors, as ANT+ is more mature and more complete than BLE. Generally, only simple data like heart rate will be supported when a sensor is paired through BLE. For example:
An HRM-Pro™ heart rate monitor may transmit heart rate for the activity but will not transmit running dynamics.
A Rally™ power meter may transmit power for the activity but may not transmit cycling dynamics.
To resolve this, we suggest switching the sensor to an ANT+ connection if it is available.
Switching to an ANT+ Connection
Some Garmin watches allow you to change the connection type by selecting the sensor from the menu, then Connection Type. If you do not see this option, the connection type can be changed by un-pairing or removing the sensor and then pairing it again. Refer to your owner's manual for specific instructions.
My Data Is Incorrect
If the data from a BLE sensor is not recording correctly during your activity, there are a few steps you can take:
Adjust the sensor's fit.
Replace the battery in the sensor (if it has a replaceable battery).
Update the software for the sensor.
Un-pair the sensor and Garmin device and then pair them again. Refer to your owner's manual for specific instructions.
If the data from a sensor still does not record correctly, contact the sensor manufacturer.
