How Do I Restart My Garmin Device?

NOTE: vívofit® owners can skip this step of the troubleshooting process.

I Have a Watch with Buttons

The power button for most watches is the same button that controls the backlight, and often features the following icon: Circle with a line sticking out of the topPress to turn off, press again to turn on.

Some watches feature a controls menu when you press and hold the power button. Select the Circle with a line sticking out of the top icon from the screen to shut the watch off. Press the same button to turn the watch back on.

Return to the Garmin Connect™ app to attempt the pairing process again.


I Have a Watch Without Buttons

To restart watches without a power button: Connect to power with the charging cable, then disconnect. Once restarted, retry pairing in the Garmin Connect app.


I Have a Different Device

Refer to the Device Overview section of your owner's manual to locate the power button. Sensors such as heart rate monitors, power meter pedals, etc. will not have a power button so you can skip this troubleshooting step.
