Battery Life and Weather Rating on the Xero X1i

The Xero® X1i crossbow scope uses two AAA Lithium batteries. This allows the sight to perform 1200 cycles, which includes taking a range and illuminating the display for 20 seconds. When the display is off, but the device is in standby mode, it draws very little power and will automatically power off after 12 hours of inactivity. Adjusting the display timeout can improve battery life.

How Does the Display Time Out Work

To save battery power the default display is set to time out after 20 seconds. When the screen is close to the time out while in Hunt Mode, a "!" with a countdown timer will appear next to the aim point. Tap any button to reset the timer. If the device times out, tapping any button will wake the scope to where it was when the timeout occurred. To adjust this setting.

  1. Press OK to open the main menu.
  2. Highlight the gear icon X1i Gear Icon and press OK.
  3. Highlight Display and press OK.
  4. Highlight Time Out.
  5. Press OK to cycle through the timeout options.

Available timeout options are:

  • 20 seconds
  • 40 seconds
  • 1 minute
  • 2 minutes
  • 5 minutes

Note: Changing the batteries will not reset the sight. Calibration and settings will remain the same.

Weather Rating on the Xero X1i Crossbow Scope

The Xero X1i scope is rated for temperatures for -4° to 140°F (-20° to 60°C) and has a water rating  of IPX 7 Water Rating Definitions. The range finder will function in fog and rain without issue. If you can see the target it can range the target.

Note: The display timeout will automatically reduce to a maximum of 30 seconds when operating the device in temperatures below 32°F (0°C). You will see a Cold Weather message on the display when it has reached the timeout and temperature.
