Downloading and Managing Maps with the Earthmate Android App

Highly detailed DeLorme topographic maps of North America, NOAA nautical charts, and detailed maps of the rest of the world can be downloaded for viewing and use in the Earthmate application for Android devices. Use the instructions below to download maps and manage them in the application.

Downloading Maps

1. Open the Earthmate Android app. 
   Note: The Earthmate app is a free download from the Google Play Store.
   
   
2. Tap the Navigation Drawer at the top-left of the app and ensure that Map is selected.
   
   
   
3. Tap the Layers icon on top-right of the app.
   
   
   
4. On the Manage Maps screen tap the Get Maps button.
   
5. On the Download Maps screen tap Next.
   
   
   
6. Pan and zoom the map to the region you want to download maps for. Tap Next.
   
   
   
7. Tap on the check box next to a map type to select or de-select the type for download. 
   
   Note: To select or de-select specific maps, tap the arrow to the right of the map type and tap the check box to the left of the map name. Tab the back button on your phone when done. 
   
   
   
8. Tap the Download button when finished. The download progress will display at the bottom of the Available Maps page.
   

Managing Maps

1. Tap the Map Layers button.
   
   
   
2. Tap on a map type to select or de-select it. Types that are not selected will not appear on the main map. 
   
   
   
3. Tap on the Earthmate symbol next to Manage Maps when done.
   

Deleting a Map

1. Tap the Map Library button.
   
   
   
2. Tap the arrow to the right of the type of map to be deleted.
   
   
   
3. Press and hold the map to delete.
   
   
   
4. Tap Delete Map.
   
   
   
5. Tap on the Earthmate symbol next to Manage Maps when done.
