Why Are the Sleep Time Stress Averages Different?

The sleep-time stress graph charts your stress throughout your sleep period averaged in 3-minute increments. However, the overall stress level labeled below your graph is averaged using a different increment of time. Due to this, it is normal to see an average stress level that does not match the charted levels in the graph above this value.

Stress During Sleep Hours GraphTips for Lower Sleep-Time Stress

Regular exercise, a healthy diet, relaxation techniques such as meditation, and a comfortable environment can help reduce stress before and during sleep. Starting a bedtime relaxation routine about an hour before you plan to fall asleep is also beneficial. Factors that can contribute to high stress levels include alcohol, nicotine, and excess caffeine. Stress can also be increased by illness.
