Downloading BirdsEye Direct Satellite Imagery on a Tread Device

BirdsEye Direct Satellite Imagery provides downloadable high-resolution map imagery, including detailed satellite imagery and topographical maps.

  • A subscription is not required and coverage is worldwide.

  • You can download BirdsEye Direct Satellite Imagery directly to your device when it is connected to a Wi-Fi network.

    • See the owner's manual for connecting to Wi-Fi on the Tread® | Tread® - Base Edition | Tread® Textron GPS navigators.

  • Birdseye Direct Satellite Imagery is locked to one device and cannot be transferred to another device even if using a memory card.

  • The above devices have a limit on how many BirdsEye Direct Satellite images can be downloaded for optimal device performance and will display a warning once this limit has been reached. If you receive this message, BirdsEye images will need to be deleted to free up space for additional downloads.

  • Garmin offers the most recent images that our BirdsEye providers make available.

  • You can typically expect an update once a year in heavily populated areas. An update can usually be seen every two years in lesser populated areas. Updates to less populated areas do not apply to all regions, some regions may experience longer time-frames between updates.

    • These time-frames are estimated and there is no notification when an area will be, or has been, updated.
