Using a Headset with the Rino Series
The Rino® series handhelds support the usage of headsets that have a 2.5mm jack. There should also be two bands around the male jack that the headset uses. We recommend using our Ear Receiver with Push-to-talk Microphone to ensure compatibility. The Rino handheld will automatically use a compatible headset when it is plugged in.
If you are having troubles with using the headset with a Rino handheld, check the following:
- If using a PTT (Push to Talk) headset, you must press the PTT button after connecting the headset for it to be detected.
- Ensure the headset is firmly connected to the Rino handheld.
- Ensure that your Rino does not have a low amount of battery charge.
- Ensure the Rino handheld's software is up to date - Installing the Latest Software Updates to Your Outdoor Handheld
- If your headset has a mute feature, ensure it is not muted.
- Try a different headset if possible.
