Showing Tide and Current Data on the Chart Page of a Garmin Marine Device

Animated Tides and Currents is a feature of marine series chartplotters that allows the user to see what the tide and current information is without having to leave the chart page. Devices that are pre-loaded with coastal detail can display animated tide information without adding any mapping information. Devices without pre-loaded coastal mapping can display this information with an added BlueChart g2 or g2 Vision card.

This feature is available on the following series models:

Please follow these steps to activate the Animated Tides and Currents feature on a echoMAP/echoMAP Plus series device:

1. Start from the Home Screen
2. Select Charts
3. Select Navigation Chart
4. Select Menu
5. Select Chart Setup
6. Select Tides and Currents
7. Select Animated

Please follow these steps to activate the Animated Tides and Currents feature on a GPSMAP series device:

1. Start from the Home screen
2. Select Charts
3. Select Navigation Chart
4. Select Menu
5. Select Layers
6. Select Chart
7. Select Tides & Currents
8. Select Tides & Currents arrows 
9. Select Animated

After activating the Animated Tides and Currents feature, rather than showing a static indicator, tide and current stations will show an animated picture indicating the current status in that area according to the tide and current tables.
