Leaving Amazon Alexa Disabled on a Garmin DriveSmart™ 65 with Amazon Alexa or a Garmin DriveSmart™ 66/76/86

The Garmin DriveSmart™ 65 with Amazon Alexa GPS navigator and the Garmin DriveSmart™ 66, Garmin DriveSmart™ 76 and Garmin DriveSmart™ 86 GPS navigators all have the ability to use Amazon Alexa. The connection and sign in with an Amazon account is done in the Garmin Drive app. See the links below for the pairing and connecting steps:

NOTE:

  • Garmin DriveSmart™ 65 with Amazon Alexa - Signing into an Amazon Alexa account (activating Alexa) is required in the set up process of the Garmin Drive app. There is no way to disable the feature other than to remove the device from the Garmin Drive app or disable the Bluetooth pairing between the phone and the device.

Sign in with Amazon 

  • On a Garmin DriveSmart™ 66/76/86 - Amazon Alexa will remain disabled until it is setup as offered in the initial setup (see below), or by going to Settings gear Settings Gear 1, then Amazon Alexa in the Garmin Drive app.
