Navigation Database Not Being Recognized When I Insert the Card in the Displays on My G1000
There may be Multiple Reasons.
Make sure the System ID of the G1000® avionics suite matches what you have in your fly.Garmin.com account. If the System IDs are different, then the databases will not be transferred to the system. Contact Aviation Product Support at 866-739-5687 to have your System ID corrected.
The aircraft does not have access to a clear view of the sky, and is thereby unable to acquire a GPS signal. Without GPS, the Navigation Data will not be recognized. This is because the databases need a time and date stamp to be active in the system. We recommend that when performing a database update, the aircraft is 20 ft. (6 meters) away from obstructions.
The download may have been corrupted while transferring the databases from the computer to the card. It is possible to clear the downloads in the Garmin Aviation Database Manager. See how to clear downloads from the Garmin Aviation Database Manager Application, then try reloading the databases.
The SD Card you are using might be too big for specific G1000 Software. Check your Pilot’s Guide to make sure you are using the proper type and size of SD Card.
