Error "Failed to Load Tide Data" on a quatix 5 / 6

If the error message "Failed to Load Tide Data" appears on a quatix 5/6, there are a few steps to try and resolve:


If the Tides by Garmin widget has not been installed and the error is present, install the widget
      1. In the Garmin Connect Mobile application, tap the image of the quatix in the upper right of the screen

      2. Select Activities, Apps, and More

      3. Select Get More Widgets

        • This will redirect you to the Connect IQ application

      4. Search Connect IQ for the Tides by Garmin widget

      5. Select the Tides by Garmin widget

      6. Choose Install

      7. After the widget is installed, return to the Garmin Connect Mobile application and sync the quatix

This should allow the tide data to appear without error. 

If the Tides by Garmin widget is already installed and the error is present, uninstall and reinstall the widget

To uninstall the widget:

      1. Open the Connect IQ application

      2. Tap My Device

        • If you have more than one Garmin device you can switch the device by touching Choose

      3. Tap on correct Installed Apps field: My Watch Faces, My Device Apps, My Data Fields, My Widgets, or My Music

        • Note: If any of the above Connect IQ features are missing, then they are not supported with your device

      4. Tap on the app

      5. Tap Uninstall

To install the widget:

      1. In the Garmin Connect Mobile application, tap the image of the quatix in the upper right of the screen

      2. Select Activities, Apps, and More

      3. Select Get More Widgets

        • This will redirect to the Connect IQ application

      4. Search Connect IQ for the Tides by Garmin widget

      5. Select the Tides by Garmin widget

      6. Choose Install

      7. After the widget is installed, return to the Garmin Connect Mobile application and sync the quatix

This should allow the tide data to appear without error.
