Steps to Replace Vector Pedal Cartridges
Separate the left and right Vector pedal. The Left pedal will feature an extra groove cut into the spindle shoulder where the right pedal does not.
Separate the left and right replacement cartridge. The left cartridge will feature an indication ring cut into the cartridge barrel where the right does not.
Place the cartridge removal tool and 25mm open end wrench on the left pedal cartridge grooves and remove the pedal by turning it counter-clockwise out of the pedal body. Unthreading the cartridge may feel stiff due to a threadlocker application that was used during assembly.
Use the 15mm open end wrench, and 8mm socket to remove the black cartridge nut and washer.
Remove the cartridge from the spindle.
Remove the brass spacer ring and dust seal from the spindle.
Clean the pedal spindle using a shop rag.
Slide the new dust seal and brass spacer ring over the spindle. The tapered side of the dust seal and brass spacer ring must face the base of the spindle.
Apply a one inch strip of fresh grease to the spindle.
Slide the replacement left pedal cartridge onto the spindle.
Install the washer and black cartridge nut back onto the spindle threading it clockwise. Tighten the nut to 7 Nm or 5 lbf-ft.
Now install the spindle assembly into the Vector pedal body using the cartridge tool and 25mm wrench to torque the assembly rotating clockwise. A very snug tightness should be sufficient.
Repeat steps 1-10 for the right pedal remembering that the parts are all threaded in the opposite direction. Also note, the cartridge nut will be silver and not black.
After replacing the pedal cartridges, reinstall the pedals on the bike. You will need to set your install angles which your paired head unit should prompt you to do so once the pedals are connected.
