GSA 28 Service Life Extension Program Commonly Asked Questions

GSA 28 ® Service Life Extension Program Frequently Asked Questions:


  • I received Newly Overhauled servos but expected new production servos.
    • All newly overhauled servos are treated with the same manufacturing, design, component quality, and testing standards as a new production servo.


  • When should I schedule the replacement of my servos?
    • Work with your Garmin dealer to schedule an appointment that coincides with your aircraft's annual maintenance. 


  • How will my Warranty be impacted? 
    • The standard warranty applies after the exchange of the servos.
      • 6 months after the exchange OR the balance of your existing 2-year warranty applies, whichever is longer.

  • Does the GSA 28 Service-Life Extension Program include labor?
    • For installation in certified aircraft only, all affected servo units are eligible for parts and labor warranty reimbursement for a period of (5) years from the date of this service bulletin.


  • What if my servos are out of warranty? 
    • The program allows up to five years to exchange from the date of the service bulletin, under warranty, all affected GSA 28 servos for servos marked with Mod 1. All -00/-11 and -20/-21 servos not marked with Mod 1 are eligible for exchange under this Service Life Extension Program. 


  • Do I need to coordinate with my original Garmin dealer who installed the servos for the warranty to be covered?
    • No. Either the original dealer or a Garmin dealer from our Dealer Locator, can perform the exchange and installation.
