Setting Up an Off-Course Alert on an Outdoor Handheld Device

Most newer outdoor handheld devices offer an option to set up a course alert or an off-course alert while navigating to a waypoint or along a route. This will result in the device beeping to alert the user that they have deviated a certain distance from the course.

NOTE: Your device may require a software update before seeing the option for setting up course alerts. See, Installing Software Updates to Outdoor Handhelds

Steps for Devices With Course Alerts

  1. Select Setup from the main menu.
