Connecting a Fusion® Apollo™ Stereo to a Garmin® Chartplotter via the Garmin Marine Network

Fusion® Apollo™ MS-RA800, MS-RA770, MS-RA670, MS-WB670, and MS-SRX400 stereos can be connected to the Garmin® Marine Network to be controlled by a compatible Garmin MFD. This method will also display album artwork if available, which NMEA 2000 will not.

Notes:

  • ECHOMAP chartplotters only support networking to stereos via NMEA 2000. Connecting a stereo using Garmin Marine Network will result in an error prompting the user to remove the unsupported device from the Panoptix port
  • Non-Garmin chartplotters use different protocols than the Garmin Marine Network and will not be able to control an Apollo stereo in this way, however compatible MFDs can still be connected via NMEA 2000

The stereo can be directly connected to the MFD, or to the GMS 10 Network Port Expander if there are multiple Garmin Marine Network devices connected, with a Garmin Marine Network to Fusion Cable. Once connected, the stereo will need to be configured to work on the new network.

  1. From the Home screen select the fusion menu icon Menu button
  2. Select SETTINGS
    menu select settings

  3. Select NETWORK
    select network

  4. Select WI-FI OFF
    select wi-fi off

  5. Select GARMIN MARINE NETWORK
    select garmin marine network

  6. Select SAVE

The stereo will now be visible on the Garmin Marine Network and is able to be controlled through the Media tab on a Fusion-Link capable MFD.
