Running the Cortex® M1 Hub AIS Module and H1/H1P VHF Handset Software Updates
Once the update is downloaded to a mobile device, connect it to the Cortex® M1 Hub WiFi on the vessel.
The Cortex® M1 Hub will automatically recognize updated firmware.
The Cortex® Onboard App will ask if you would like to perform the firmware update; Select Yes to update.
Follow the instructions on the Cortex® Onboard App.
Process Details of Running the Firmware Update
When the update begins, all status lights will illuminate green. The transfer of downloaded software is estimated to take about 8 minutes from the mobile device. The device will upload the update file and the Cortex® will then validate it. It's best to only have one device (mobile or Handset) connected, not multiple. If you are upgrade from the Cortex® Onboard App, it's best to keep the app open on the update screen.
Once the uploaded file is validated successfully, the Cortex® M1 Hub AIS module will reboot. The LED status lights will turn blue, starting with the GPS status light, then as the update progresses all the status lights turn blue. The Cortex® M1 Hub AIS module is updating and processes an estimated 3 - 4 minutes.
Once the update is finished, the normal boot process occurs and the status lights will appear yellow or green.
NOTE: If the mobile device being used to update the Cortex® M1 Hub AIS module has an active VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection, it may prevent the connectivity needed to successfully sync software updates or programming. |
The total time to update the software should take less than 20 minutes, typically about 12 minutes.
If experiencing a problem connecting, remove the NMEA 2000 cable and power cycle the Cortex® M1 Hub AIS module, then try connecting again.
