Ranging Modes on the Xero X1i
Various ranging modes on the Xero® X1i crossbow scope allow the user to account for any hunting environment or terrain, whether you are ranging through dense cover or across an open field.
The Xero X1i scope can be set to one of 3 different ranging modes: Recent, Minimum, and Maximum. Each of these modes has its own useful application in the field.
NOTE: For the best results in each ranging mode you should hold the ranging button until TARGET LOCKED appears.
Ranging Modes
- RECENT - The default ranging mode will give the user the most accurate or "true" range and requires a clear unobstructed view of the target. Ideal for most environments.
- MINIMUM - This ranging mode allows the user to scan a target with a spotty background. If the user is not steady and accidentally ranges behind the target, the sight will hold on the minimum value ranged and provide a pin for that distance. Ideal when the target is too far away and positioned in front of a backdrop, such as a group of trees.
- MAXIMUM - This ranging mode allows the user to scan a target through cover or brush and hold on to the maximum distance recognized by the sight to provide a pin. Ideal when the target is in wooded conditions where the range finder might detect leaves or other interference.
