Troubleshooting Golf Courses That Will Not Download From the Garmin Connect App
Some watches that support the Golf activity are not preloaded with golf course maps. For these watches, golf courses are downloaded, installed, and updated through the Garmin Connect™ app instead of the Garmin Express™ program. For further information on how the process works, see - Downloading Golf Courses to Your Watch Using the Garmin Connect App.
If you are having trouble transferring the courses to the watch, there are a couple of things to check.
Checking the Watch Connection With the Garmin Connect App
If the watch connection is not stable with the Garmin Connect app, the courses downloaded will not transfer over to the watch. The same will occur if you are only seeing the course from the last round you played on the watch, since it caches the last course that was selected. You can check the connection status in the Garmin Devices section of the Garmin Connect app.
Open the Garmin Connect app.
Select More (bottom right).
Select Garmin Devices.
Check to ensure your watch is showing as "Connected".
If your watch is showing as "Not Connected" and is not reconnecting automatically, rebooting or power cycling your watch and smartphone will usually solve this issue. If the issue remains, you can remove and re-pair the watch to correct this. For instructions, see - Instructions to Remove and Add a Device in the Garmin Connect App.
Getting a Transfer Failed or Courses Failed to Download Message on the Watch
If an error message displays on the watch during the transfer, it is typically due to the golf courses downloaded in the Garmin Connect app. You can delete the downloaded courses and redownload them.
Android: Press and hold on the course and then select REMOVE.
iOS: Swipe left on the course and then select Delete.
Once all of the courses are deleted, download the course you are wanting to play next and see if it transfers over to your watch.
