Gallery - Create Video
After the footage is imported, video clips will appear in the Gallery. From the Gallery, you can create a video to be edited and customized.
Creating a Video:
1. Click Create Video

2. Name the video, then click Create Video

Once the video is created it will be saved in the Gallery and can be edited and customized in the Media Library.
Media Library - View, Organize, Stitch and Share Video
Add imported video clips to the Media Library in order to view, organize, export or share, and stitch multiple clips.
Adding Imported Video Clip(s):
Choose a clip or multiple clips to include in the video by adding them into the timeline across the bottom.
VIRB Edit will stitch multiple added video clips together to make one video.
The video can be customized and edited after clips have been added to the timeline.

Once the video is added it will be saved in the Gallery.

Choose the resolution, frame rate, and quality of the saved file.
Choose branding to VIRB intro, Outro, or nothing.

Viewing Experience - VIRB 360 Multi-Lens View
Viewing Experience is only available on VIRB 360 video.
360 degree - Exports as a 360-degree video that viewers may view and interact within VR when viewed in a supporting player such as YouTube.
HyperFrame - Allows you to customize the angle of video view.
Pan - move the video horizontally left or right.
Tilt - move video vertically up and down.
Zoom - move video in and out.
Editing - Video and Audio
Video clips can be rotated, mirrored, trimmed, or split. The audio volume can also be adjusted.
To edit video and audio:
1. Select a video clip by using the arrows to move from clip to clip

2. Select Video or Audio for editing options

3. Select editing options to customize the video clip(s)
Rotate - spin video 180 degrees at a time.
Mirror Clip - reverse the orientation of the video across the y-axis.
Trim Left - remove everything to the left of the break.
Split - divide the video into multiple clips.
Trim Right - remove everything to the right of the break.
Clip Speed - change the playback speed of the video.

4. The selected video clip will be highlighted
Click on any point of any video clip to add a page/line break for editing before and after the break.
Right-click on a video clip to remove the video.
Zoom - see more frames of the video or overview of clips.

G-Metrix - Performance Metrics
Using the built-in GPS receiver and sensors, your camera can detect g-force, altitude, speed, orientation, and many other performance metrics.
This data is saved automatically as G-Metrix data.
The VIRB Edit program will allow you to add G-Metrix data to your videos in the form of overlays and gauges.
Only video clips with G-Metrix data have the ability to add overlays and gauges.
Templates - hover over each template to view data within each template
- Data Preset - after choosing a template, choose the activity type if available for the chosen gauge

Gauges - custom gauge options
- Click on a Data Type to choose the type of gauge
- Drag the gauge into the desired location in the display
- Click on the gauge to change the orientation

Appearance - change the color and orientation of the custom gauges
- Color.
- Transform.
- Tilt (not available on all camera footage).
- Scale.
- Rotate.
- Delete gauge.
Data -
Hide overlays for the selected clip.
Data Type - choose the source of the G-Metrix data for different gauges.
Jump Detection - choose the activity.
Relative Elevation - set a point of the clip as 0 to track changes in activities like sky diving.
Activity Start Time - helps calculate distance, lap information, etc.
G-Metrix Sync - Manually align G-Metrix data with the timing of the clip.

Import G-Metrix - option to manually import G-Metrix information if not automatically included
Example: adding data from a separate sensor, activities, and wellness data files (.FIT files).
Import from a computer or another device.
1. Click Import G-Metrix...

2. To import a G-Metrix Log File
- Choose a Source of the file (Previous Imports, the Devices, or On My Computer)
- Click on the file name (i.e. .fit or temp file)
- Click Use this Log

The imported log data from the chosen source will now be available to be used in your video (i.e Elevation and Heart Rate Gauge as shown below).

Stabilization - Vibration Reduction, Motion Paths, Overlays
Stabilization can be used to stabilize and reduce vibration in a video, follow a motion path, and overlay a lock to a single object.

No stabilization - no change to the original video.
Vibration Reduction - electronically remove vibration from the video.
Stabilize Only - remove vibrations and correct horizon.
Follow Path - View follows the motion of the camera on the track.
Compass Lock - the view is locked in a cardinal direction.
Vehicle Mode Overlays - View locks to an object in the video like a dashboard.
Set Initial Orientation - Set the point of view for the beginning of the video.

Transitions - Duration and Style
Customize and set the speed of transitions between video clips.
- Set duration of transition 0.1 seconds to 10 seconds
- Select transition type - this is how each stitched video clip transitions from one to the next
- None.
- Slide Left.
- Slide Up.
- Slide Right.
- Slide Down.
- Cross Fade.
- Choose Apply To All to apply the transition to all clips and photos
- The selected transition between frames will be highlighted
- Click on the top arrows to move from frame to frame.

Soundtrack - Preloaded or Browse Media
- Choose a preloaded music clip to apply to a video.
- Select Browse to upload your own media.

Titles - Font, Orientation, Duration, Transition
Add title text to the video including font, orientation, duration, and transition
- Select Add Title
- Click Duplicate Title to repeat the entry of a previous title, edit as needed.
- Select New Title Text
- To customize the title font, color, orientation, start time, duration, fade in/out.

To view coordinates of a photo (.pdf file) on the computer:
Note: The VIRB's GPS must be enabled when a photo is taken for coordinates to be viewed. See your device owner's manual for steps to enable GPS.
- On Windows 10: (steps may vary on different OS).
- Locate the desired photo file in Windows Explorer on your PC
- Right-click on the photo file
- Click Properties
- Click the Details tab
- Scroll down to find GPS coordinates
- On a Mac: (steps may vary on different OS).
- Open the desired photo file in the Preview app on your Mac
- Choose Tools, then Show Location Info
- Click the More Info Inspector button
- Click GPS.
- A pin indicates the location where the photo was taken on a world map.
- Click Show in Maps to view a street map of the photo's location.
Timeline Bar and Menu - Video Viewing Options, VIRB Edit Settings, Shortcuts
Timeline Bar
- Crop, G-Metrix, and Title links display on the clip.

- Play and frame skip forward and back.
- Screenshot capture, volume control, resolution control, full view playback.

Click on Menu for the following options:
- Create Video.
