dezlCam 785 Not Detecting Purchased Maps After Successful Install to SD Card

If you are experiencing this issue after a successful map purchase install, use the following steps to move the map files from Garmin > Map on the SD card back to the Garmin folder. This will allow the downloaded maps to correctly display on the device.

NOTE: Devices with MTP Mode are prevented from appearing as a separate drive on a Mac computer.  For these devices, a Windows computer must be used.  See Automotive Device Compatibility with Garmin Mac Applications on macOS

  1. Connect the Garmin device to the computer

  2. Press the Windows Key () + E

  3. Click This PC (Windows 10 and newer)

Garmin devices will be listed under Devices and drives in Windows 10.

Garmin devices will be listed under Devices with Removable Storage or Portable Devices in older versions of Windows.

  1. Open the drive labeled with the device name.

  2. Open the Memory Card drive


  3. Open the Garmin Folder

  4. Open the Map Folder

  5. Select ALL FILES in this folder, then press CTRL + on your keyboard, or right-click and choose Cut

  6. Click the back arrow or click Garmin in the address bar to return to the Garmin folder. Paste the files here by pressing CTRL + V on your keyboard, or right-click and choose Paste

  7. Unplug the device and restart. After restart, confirm the purchased map is detected in the myMaps page on the device. See Verifying Maps Installed on an Automotive Device
