Understanding Scorecards in the Garmin Golf App

Scorecards from saved rounds can be viewed in the Garmin Golf™ app. The following information will help you better understand scorecards displayed in the Garmin Golf app.

Hole Information and Scoring

One with red circle around it The hole number. 
Hole Par Garmin Golf AppPar for the hole.
Hole Score Garmin Golf AppTotal strokes for the hole.
Handicap Stroke Garmin Golf AppA single dot represents that your handicap applied a single stroke given for the hole.
Two Handicap Strokes Garmin Golf AppTwo dots represent that your handicap applied two strokes given for the hole.  
Par for Front or Back Nine Garmin Golf AppPar for the front or back nine.
Score for Front or Back Nine Garmin Golf AppTotal score for the front or back nine.

Fairways, Greens, and Putting Stats

Fairway Hits Garmin Golf AppHoles that are a par 4 or greater track fairway hits. A fairway hit is when the ball lands on the fairway after a drive.  
Fairway Hits Total Garmin Golf AppThe first number is the total of fairway hits you made during the front or back nine. The second number is the total number of fairway hits available for the front or back nine.
Greens in Regulation Garmin Golf AppGreens in Regulation (GIR) is when your ball makes it to the green in two stokes under par. For a par 4 hole, the ball needs to make it to the green in 2 stokes or less. 
Total GIRs Garmin Golf AppThe first number represents the total number of GIRs you made for the front or back nine. The second number is the GIR total available for the front or back nine.
Putts Garmin Golf AppPutts are strokes that are made on the green with the intention of getting the ball into the hole.
Total Putts Garmin Golf AppThis number represents the total number of putts for the front or back nine of the course.

NOTE: With the scorecard open in the portrait view, turn the phone sideways to show the scorecard in landscape view for more detail.  

Out Garmin Golf App"Out" represents the front nine. "In" will be shown if viewing the back nine. The totals for the nine holes are listed in the column below.
Totals Garmin Golf AppTotals are the stats for the full eighteen holes. The totals for every hole played show in the column below.
Fairway Hit Checkmark Garmin Golf AppThe checkmark indicates your drive made it on the fairway. Left or right arrows indicate the drive was off the fairway to the left or right respectively.
GIR Unsuccessful Garmin Golf AppThe X indicates that you were not successful in getting your ball on the green in two strokes under par. A checkmark would indicate a successful GIR.
Total Putts for the Hole Garmin Golf AppThis is the number of putts taken to finish the hole.

Scorecard Landscape Garmin Golf App


AutoShot Section

AutoShot information will be shown below the scorecard in the portrait view if a compatible device was used. For compatibility, see - AutoShot Feature on Garmin Golf Watches and Devices. Tap on a hole number in the list while viewing a scorecard to open the map to view shot distances and where the ball landed.
Shot Distance Garmin Golf AppThis shows where the shot began and the distance for the shot. Tapping on the shot will pull up options to edit the club and shot location.
Shot List Menu Garmin Golf AppTap this option opens the list of shots to rearrange the order if needed.
Add Shot Icon Garmin Golf AppTap this option allows you to add a shot on the map. This can be done if a shot you took was not detected during the round.

Exclude Scorecards From Stats

Toggling on "Exclude Scorecard from Stats" will remove a particular scorecard from having any effect on your performance stats. Choosing this option will also remove that scorecard from affecting your overall handicap.
  1. Open the Garmin Golf app.

  2. Select Activity.

  3. Select a scorecard.

  4. Touch Golf App Three Red Dots.

  5. Select Edit.

  6. Touch Golf App Three Red Dots.

  7. Select Round Settings.

  8. Toggle on Exclude Scorecard from Stats.
