Navionics Boating: How to Show or Hide Your Nickname

Navionics® has updated its privacy and data protection policy to assure they are compliant with the requirements defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The GDPR carries provisions that require businesses to protect the personal data and privacy of citizens.

Because of personal data protection constraints, all Community Edits have been anonymized and no longer show the nickname of the user that created or edited an object. As a result, a generic Navionics user is shown instead.

Nicknames will again be visible to the Navionics community once the user has opted in for rendering visible its future contributions. Any contributions made before the opt in will continue to be shown as anonymous. This cannot be changed.

If you wish to keep your nickname anonymous, you may do so by going to Menu > Name > Privacy Settings. From here, you can choose your nickname setting to be visible to Only Me or Everyone.
