How Do I Replace the Cassette Body on My Tacx Direct Drive Trainer?

The Tacx Neo and Flux Series direct drive trainers come with one of two different cassette bodies:

  • EDCO Multisys cassette body (Trainers manufactured in 2017 and older)

  • Shimano/SRAM cassette (Trainers manufactured starting in January 2018 and newer)

Cassette Body Replacement Instructions:

  1. Remove your cassette (if installed on the trainer).

  2. Use a 5 mm hex wrench (Type 1 axles) or 17mm cone wrench (Type 2 axles) to remove the trainer axle nut.

  3. Remove cassette body by sliding it off the trainer axle (remove the extra plastic ring if present).

  4. Clean old grease from the trainer axle.

  5. Add a small amount of new grease to the trainer axle.

  6. Replace new cassette body onto the trainer axle.

  7. Replace and fully tighten the trainer axle nut.

  8. Remove any excess grease from the trainer flywheel.
