Navigating to a waypoint on the Geko 201 and 301
Basic navigation with your Geko™ 201 or Geko™ 301 outdoor handheld requires only three steps: Mark, Move, and Return. Mark your location as a waypoint, move a distance away, and then return after choosing one of several methods to help you find your way.
Mark a Waypoint
- Press in and hold the OK button for two seconds to display the Mark Waypoint page.
NOTE: Your current location is marked as a waypoint and automatically assigned a three digit number. - Press the OK button to save the waypoint.
- Press in and hold the OK button for two seconds to display the Mark Waypoint page.
Viewing the Map Page while Moving
- Use the PAGE button to access the Map Page and view the new waypoint.
- Press the DOWN button to zoom in for a more detailed view of the map.
- Walk or drive around for a few minutes, make a right or left turn, then continue for a few more minutes and then stop.
NOTE: The 'Position Icon' shows your location and the dotted line shows your path of travel, called a Track.
Return to a waypoint Using Goto
- Press the PAGE button a few times until the Menu Page displays.
- Use the UP or DOWN button to highlight 'Waypoints' and then press the OK button.
- Use the UP or DOWN button to highlight 'Nearest' and then press the OK button.
- Use the DOWN button to highlight the waypoint and then press the OK button to display the Waypoint Review Page.
- With the on-screen 'GOTO' button highlighted, press the OK button to activate the Goto navigation feature.
NOTE: The Navigation Page automatically displays, and the remaining distance to your destination is shown at the top of the page.
