Getting Started with Applied Ballistics on the Montana 700 Series
The Montana® 700 series handhelds can use Applied Ballistics with the purchase of an Applied Ballistics subscription. To use Applied Ballistics, be sure that your Montana handheld software is up to date. For steps to update see Updating the Software on Your Montana 700, 700i, or 750i.
Note: When purchasing or upgrading in the Applied Ballistics Quantum app you will see that there is different pricing for yearly or monthly subscriptions. This pricing is for specific subscriptions within the app and will not unlock a license on your Garmin device. Pricing to unlock a Applied Ballistics license on a Garmin device is a one time purchase.
Unlocking or Upgrading Applied Ballistics Software
To get started with setting up Applied Ballistics on your Montana 700 series handheld, first pair with the Garmin Connect™ App or Garmin Explore™ App on your compatible smart phone or tablet. For pairing steps, see Pairing the Montana 700 Series with a Phone or Tablet.
You will also need the AB Quantum™ app.
Once paired with your phone open the Quantum app.
In the Quantum app, select Devices.
If necessary, add your device by selecting the + icon.
Select the settings icon
.Select Upgrade Device.
You will be directed to the Applied Ballistics purchase options available.
In addition to unlocking the license, the AB Quantum app can also help you add and manage ballistic profiles on your Garmin device. For more information on the AB Quantum app, see https://appliedballisticsllc.com/ab-quantum/.
Setting up Applied Ballistics on the Montana 700 Series
Select Home (lower left).
Select Add Page.
Select Applied Ballistics.
Applied Ballistics is now added to the Main Menu and will unlock when opened.
