Tracks or Activities Are Missing From Garmin Connect After Syncing My Garmin Handheld

If tracks or activities are not showing in Garmin Connect™ web or app after syncing a Garmin handheld, there are several things you can check to determine the cause of the issue.

Is the Time and Date Correct on the Handheld?

Garmin handhelds are designed to automatically set the time and date when they acquire a GPS signal. If the time and date on the handheld is incorrect, your saved tracks/activities will upload to Garmin Connect web or app at the wrong time or date making it appear that they are missing from your account.

Anytime the time and date is not displayed correctly, it can be resolved by updating the software of the handheld, then taking it outside to allow it to acquire a satellite signal as if you are beginning tracking your location. Once the handheld acquires a signal, the time and date will be updated.

For instructions on updating the software, see - Installing Software Updates to Outdoor Handhelds.

Was the Track/Activity Saved on the Handheld?

The current track or activity will not sync to your Garmin Connect account automatically. It must be saved on the handheld first, then any saved tracks/activities will sync to your Garmin Connect account.

What Apps or Programs Are Being Used to Sync the Handheld?

Verify if your handheld is capable of syncing tracks/activities via the Garmin Connect app, or if it must be synced using the Garmin Express™ program.

Is "Consent to Upload Data" Enabled?

This setting can be changed in Garmin Express or the Garmin Connect app. For instructions, see - How Do I Revoke or Allow Consent to Upload My Data to Garmin Connect?.

Has the Handheld Has Been Associated With More Than One Garmin Connect Account?

This can occur when you have let a friend or family member use the handheld or if you have created multiple Garmin Connect accounts (due to having multiple email addresses or misspelling an email address when creating an account).

This can be resolved by removing the handheld from your account and then adding it to your account again. For details, see - Instructions to Remove and Add a Device in the Garmin Connect App or Adding and Removing Devices in Garmin Express..

NOTE: iCloud email addresses are seen as separate email addresses by Garmin Connect and are not interchangeable when signing into your Garmin Connect account (even if both email addresses are tied to the same iCloud account). Example: If you find that you are able to sign in to Garmin Connect with your @icloud.com email address, but you can also sign in with your @me.com or @mac.com email address this means you have created more than one Garmin Connect account.

Is Data Appearing In the Garmin Connect App but Not Garmin Connect Web?

If your data is appearing in the Garmin Connect app but not on the Garmin Connect website, or vice versa, follow the steps in the section above titled "Has the Handheld Has Been Associated With More Than One Garmin Connect Account?"
