Pairing Issues with Astro 320 and DC 20, DC 30 and DC 40 Collars Purchased from Different Countries

Astro® 320 dog tracking handheld and DC™ 20, DC™ 30 and DC™ 40 collars purchased in a bundle or in the same country will operate at the same frequency, which allows them to pair. When the handheld and dog collar are purchased from different countries, the dog collar may be able to pair up to the Astro, but may be unable to communicate. Communication issues include not receiving messages from dog collar, status staying at unknown, battery level showing question mark and GPS signal displaying no bars. If pairing issues are occurring, confirm the country version for both the Astro and dog collar.

To access the Astro handheld's information page:

  1. Press Menu twice
  2. Select Setup
  3. Select About

To access the collar's information page:

  1. Press Dog twice
  2. Select the Dog that is unable to communicate
  3. Select Show Info
  4. Press Menu button
  5. Select Identify Dog Unit

The letter after the software version will give the country version. The country version codes are as follows, using 2.40 as an example software version in parenthesis:

  • No letters display in software version - North America (2.40)
  • S - Norway / Sweden (2.40S)
  • G - German (2.40G)
  • U - United Kingdom (2.40U)
  • F - France (2.40F)
  • R - Russia (2.40R)

If the Astro 320 handheld and collar do not have the same country code, they will not communicate.
