Using a Pair of ClearVu/SideVu Transducers Instead of a Single Transducer
When choosing whether or not to use a pair of ClearVu/SideVu Thru-Hull transducers, the boat's deadrise must be considered.
On boats that have a dead-rise of five degrees or less, Garmin recommends using a single ClearVu/SideVu Thru-Hull transducer. At that angle, there is no risk of having the on-screen image shaded by the hull itself.

If a single transducer is used on a boat with a deadrise of greater than 5 degrees, there will be some signal loss due to the hull.
